Meet the Teachers
Cathy Sciarratta started dancing at age 5 under the tutelage of Sandy Stramonine, of West Walworth NY, whom she still considers her teacher. She participated in many summer dance intensive programs, including North Carolina, School of the Arts and Pittsburgh Ballet Theater School. The summer with Pittsburgh led to her inclusion in their program for two and half years. Cathy then returned to New York where she taught for Sandy Stramonine and also danced with the Joffrey Ballet School in NYC. After moving to Colorado she taught at the Durango Ballet Academy for two years often times working with the Aspen Ballet. After a brief sojourn in Orange County California, Cathy returned to Colorado where she purchased and ran the Durango Ballet for three years. Cathy returned to her New York state roots in 2002, teaching in Canandaigua. She opened Finger Lakes Ballet Academy in 2003.
